Mentorship Program

The HEDNA Mentorship Program
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Vision & Purpose:  The Future Leaders Mentorship Program is designed to inspire members, within any business, to achieve and perform at a high level. The purpose is to develop the individual, not only for their current role, but also for the future through a mentor relationship.

Why Mentor?  By investing in the development of FLOH members, we encourage them to have long, high-performing, successful careers within the industry.

What is Mentoring?  Mentoring is a structured relationship where a person chooses to invest in another to help them grow personally and professionally. It is sharing your life experience to encourage positive growth of the mentee.

The Mentee/Mentor relationship provides a confidential safe space for discussing development. A mentor is not a coach, manager, or boss. Mentors are a guide to help develop an employee through sharing their own experiences. Mentees are not to be viewed as subordinates, direct reports, or staff.

How it works:

  • FLOH Members will be invited to join, and offered the opportunity to be paired with a mentor from various organizations to develop personally and professionally.
  • This will be a 6-month program giving the member an elevated learning experience through their relationship with a mentor.

The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves” – Steven Spielberg

General Guidelines:

  • Mentor/Mentee relationship is confidential, discussions are not to be shared.
  • Mentor/Mentee must be willing to allocate 6 hours over 6 months. The mentoring relationship may naturally continue beyond the 6 structured meetings, but is not required.
  • Mentors and Mentees will be followed up with and evaluated after the 6 months. Mentors may or may not get asked to mentor again based on the experience feedback/
  • Mentees and Mentors will be given a certification connected to their LinkedIn profile for being inducted into the FLOH Mentorship program with a link to a landing page/website.
